  • Upon online acceptance of the document by the physician, the WebEHR electronic signature module will insert a line of text in the signature block declaring the document has been electroni¬cally signed, or alternatively, a scanned image of the signature along with the electronic signature designating text can be inserted.

  • In either case, once the document is signed, it is automatically locked from future edits in accor¬dance with JCAHO regulations. Editing is allowed prior to signature by the physician or authorized transcription production staff members in a simple Microsoft Word editor. All access, editing, signature and distribution activities are controlled by security levels and reflected in the audit trails.
