
- Electronic Signature


Upon online acceptance of the document by the physician, the WebEHR electronic signature module will insert a line of text in the signature block declaring the document has been electroni¬cally signed, or alternatively, a scanned image of the signature along with the electronic signature designating text can be inserted.
In either case, once the document is signed, it is automatically locked from future edits in accor¬dance with JCAHO regulations. Editing is allowed prior to signature by the physician or authorized transcription production staff members in a simple Microsoft Word editor. All access, editing, signature and distribution activities are controlled by security levels and reflected in the audit trails.
